Derek Cronin is a composer, keyboardist, music producer and video director.

He has been commissioned to compose music by RTE, TG4, the Irish Museum of Modern Art and Tourism Ireland.

As a session keyboard & piano player he has recorded, toured and performed with acts including The Commitments, Sinead O'Connor, Donovan, Juliet Turner, Brian Kennedy and Westlife.

As a producer at Phonic Studios, he has produced and mastered music for in Tua Nua, Paul Hourican, Jack L, Permafrost, Jeannette Byrne, and Calvin Scully.

As director of New Media company Optophonic, Derek has directed & edited promotional, commercial and educational films and videos for companies such as Creative Labs, World Vision, the European Space Agency, Fine Gael, Bord Bia, TG4 and RTE.

Derek also moans about music technology regularly, whether at his lectures in NUI Maynooth (MA in Computer Music) or the Sound Training Centre (Dip. in Sound Engineering), or on his blog at moanincronin.com.

Derek holds a degree in Communications (B Sc.) majoring in film, awarded by the University of Dublin.
