Independent Newspapers have commissioned Derek to create the new musical signatures for their Irish Independent and Sunday Independent advertisement campaigns.

The new pieces will be heard extensively on the Irish airwaves over the coming months.

RTE’s new suspenseful mini-series, “Who is Jamie Crowe?” begins this Thursday, 10th September, as part of ICE TV.

Music and soundscapes in “Who is Jamie Crowe?” were created by Derek.

“Grow It Cook It Eat It” Airs

Sound designer and broadcaster Michael Lemass has aired the first episode of his “Grow It Cook It Eat It” radio show. “Grow It Cook It Eat It” talks about easy ways of growing your own food and how to make the most out of it in the kitchen. The show is broadcast on Dublin South FM. Music for the show was created by Derek using samples of sounds from around the kitchen. Excerpts from the show (including the music) can be heard on the official web site.

O’Gorman’s "Blood Coloured Moon” Release Imminent

Although no official release date has been announced, Marc-Ivan O’Gorman’s short film, “Blood Coloured Moon” is ready for release and an announcement will be made shortly. “Blood Coloured Moon” was funded by the Filmbase/RTE Short Film Awards, and music was composed by Marc-Ivan O’Gorman. Music arrangements, mixing, and additional composition was provided by Derek in Phonic Studios.
